What is Good News Gazette?
In a world full of news cycles that seem ever more focused on the problems of the day, we remain convinced that there is far more that is right with the world than wrong with it. Good News Gazette (GNG) is dedicated to highlighting positive and inspiring, heartfelt and heartwarming, fascinating and intriguing, stories from around the world. Our goal is to help people feel good while reading the news, and perhaps inspire our users to somehow improve the world around them.
The creation of this site was inspired by an ABC News story about Brendan Foster, an 11-year old from Seattle, who in late 2008 made his dying wish to feed the homeless. The story clearly touched not only those in his hometown, but individuals around the country who were inspired to help him see his wish fulfilled. The selflessness of the request combined with the magnitude of the response inspired the creation of a site dedicated to highlighting more stories focused on the good news in the world. (A link to Brendan’s story can be found here.) One person can, indeed, make a difference in the lives of others, and it is our hope that the stories you find on Good News Gazette make a difference in your life.
